Some new details have been unveiled for 'Powers,' the live-action series based on the graphic novel of the same name coming to the PlayStation Network.

A post on the PlayStation Blog from Mike Aragon, Vice President at Sony Entertainment Network, offers a few words and some more details about 'Powers.' The biggest announcement was that they have their first director, David Slade.

Slade will direct the first two episodes of 'Powers.' For those not familiar with him or his work Slade has recently directed a few episodes of 'Hannibal' and 'Breaking Bad,' as well as films like '30 Days of Night,' 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' and 'Hard Candy.'

These first two episodes are written by Charlie Huston, who also serves as executive producer on the series. The scripts are adapted from the graphic novel series created by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, both of whom serve as executive producers alongside Charlie Huston, Remi Aubuchon, Michael Dinner and David Engel.

'Powers' follows the story of Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, homicide detectives who investigate cases that involve super-powered individuals who are referred to as "Powers." Expect to see a world in which Powers aren't necessarily meant for good or evil, meaning that it's up to the Powers Division to keep these superhuman folk in line.

The very first episode will be free for all PSN users in the United States, but the rest will only be available as free to PlayStation Plus members.
