Flying in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has been redesigned so that you can actually explore the skies of the Hoenn region like the airship of a 16-bit RPG.

Siliconera reports that scans of the latest issue of Japan's CoroCoro Comics magazine have appeared on Serebii, containing new pictures of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. These scans (provided below) show Mega Evolution forms of Beedrill and Pidgeot. We have also learned that Latios will be exclusive to Omega Ruby and Latias will be exclusive to Alpha Sapphire and that both of these Pokemon will have Mega Evolutions as well.

Previous Pokemon games would let Flying-type Pokemon use the Fly ability to instantaneously transport you to a city or area of your choosing. Based on these pictures, you will be able to ride on a flying Pokemon's back across the game's overworld, allowing you to go from location to location similar to the Aeroglider in Secret of Evermore. You will be able to encounter legendary Pokemon like Palkia, Dialga, Zekrom and Reshiram in the sky as well as all sorts of other flying Pokemon. Stay tuned as we'll provide more information on flying in Pokemon ORAS once more information is available.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are set to fly on Nov. 21 for Nintendo 3DS.
