Octodad Latches Onto Xbox One This Summer
The slippery Octodad and his supporting cast of non-octopi are migrating to a new home soon, as Young Horses has announced a Xbox One version of the game due this summer.
This new version of Octodad: Dadliest Catch, first announced via the ID@Xbox Blog, will include the upcoming Shorts DLC, which according to the Young Horses announcement includes "two new levels, 40 new objectives, over 20 breakable plates, over 0 unconscious ragdolls, an unspecified amount of new octopus sounds," and "probably a pizza." Octodad is all about a walking, talking octopus standing in as a dad for his human family who never questions his peculiar characteristics. This paternal mollusk must try to live in normal society, raise a family, go to work and deal with mundane/everyday tasks with his boneless tentacles.
Octodad is a strange game no doubt, but its inclusion in the ID@Xbox program is a welcome one. Any time an indie game can get multiple chances to impress the gaming audience is a good thing, and with the inclusion of new DLC for free even those who jumped on Octodad already might take the plunge again to try out the new content. There's probably a pizza for cripes sake, how can anyone resist a probable pizza?
Octodad: Dadliest Catch hits the Xbox One this summer, and the Shorts DLC launches on all platforms at the same time. If you haven't seen the announcement trailer for the DLC pack yet, click the video below — it's a must watch.
