If you were a backer for the Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter, then you're probably waiting patiently (oh, who are we kidding, not-so-patiently) in anticipation of the release date. With the arrival of a new box art that will be given out to the $40+ backers arrives an image update for Beck, the main character of the new game.

Many of you might be asking, why change Beck? Was the change from grey to white really that important? Well, according to the Director, Koji Imaeda, it is. "As a protagonist that could absorb the abilities of his siblings and take on various form, our image of his appropriate color shifted from 'neutrality' to 'containing all 'posibilities,'" Imaeda said. "And since white is a combination of all colors of light, we felt that would actually suit his character better!" Seems like a good enough explanation to me. Comcept even went all the way and updated its website to match the updated protagonist.

There's also speculation that since Beck looks so similar to Mega Man that the change of color was to get him a more distinguished look. Even though some of his armor stayed blue, the main color is a stark white that can't as easily be confused with Mega Man as his previous grey-blue shell color.

Next up on Comcept's list of updates for the game is the weapon for the character, Call, after the public vote. For those of you intent on playing the game, you can expect it to be out around April 2015 for a variety of systems and consoles.
