For the sake of cross-promotion with the upcoming live-action film, Maleficent has been teased as the next character/action figure to be joining the Disney Infinity roster.

The official Twitter for Disney Infinity has just posted a massive teaser about when we can see one of the most iconic animated villains ever drawn, Maleficent. That's right, the dragon-shifting, dark fairy of the moors is joining the crossover roster of Disney Infinity. We have a feeling that this incarnation of the character will appear to be a mix of the villain's look in the 1959 classic, 'Sleeping Beauty,' along with an influence from the character's self-titled, live-action film starring Angelina Jolie.

This Twitter tease features Disney Infinity's 2.0 Edition label being attached with its upcoming Marvel-based expansion. This signifies that Maleficent's addition to the ranks could coincide with the release of the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes sequel, which is due for a September launch. Since 'Maleficent' is debuting on May 30, we're expecting the full reveal to come sometime before the end of the month.

It's also worth noting Maleficent did appear in the teaser video shown before the Marvel press event, along with characters like Lilo and Stitch, so perhaps there are even more great Disney characters to be revealed before the suspected fall release.
