If you're in the mood to obliterate a race of horrific looking creatures, just hold the fort until summer. Capcom has announced Lost Planet 3 will be released in North America on June 25th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. With a new game comes an entirely new giant Akrid named the Carrier, and as you can see it's still an ugly looking creature.

A Lost Planet 3 trailer was released today, as fans get a better grasp of rig oiler Jim Peyton's journey to E.D.N. III as a NEVEC worker. After battling the Akrid leaves him injured and unconscious, he is rescued by Mira, the daughter of Snow Pirate leader So'ichi.

After uncovering a few truths along the way, Jim learns he actually has something to fight for. The trailer concludes with the deep and dramatic thought, "How far will you go when survival is not enough?" Actually, we're pretty cool with this whole surviving thing, especially if it means avoiding the Carrier!
