With its official release still four months away, LittleBigPlanet 3 has announced a closed beta test next month for the hotly-anticipated puzzle-platformer.

GameInformer reports that an update on the LittleBigPlanet Central site announced the beta. The site will be giving away a limited number of access codes for the beta to members of the community via private messages to their LittleBigPlanet Central accounts over the next few weeks. PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 gamers will be invited to the beta in order to gain feedback for both console versions of the game.

The site stresses how limited this beta will be, reiterating that only a few codes will be distributed, but teases the possibility of another beta coming later when LittleBigPlanet 3 community manager Steven Isbell states, “Please don't be discouraged if you didn't get chosen this time around...”

With LittleBigPlanet 3 set for its PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 November release, Sony and developer Sumo Digital have plenty of time to fine tune the game before opening the doors again for a larger play-test.

With a game like LittleBigPlanet 3, a smaller beta is understandable. It’s a big game with lots of interactivity and content creation, not to mention new characters with unique abilities never seen in the series, so thousands of Sackboys running around in an early build might be too much to handle.
