League of Legends Studio Giving Money to New Hires Who Quit
Riot Games has started signing checks to encourage its newest employees to leave the studio.
Joystiq reports that Riot Games, the developer behind League of Legends, has announced its Queue Dodge initiative. Queue Dodge is a set of directives that allow new members of Riot Games in North America to receive 10 percent of their annual salary if they were to leave the studio within their first two months.
"Basically, we're offering new hires cash to quit," read Riot Games' description of Queue Dodge.
Riot Games explains that it is not trying to ramp down its staff or wants to encourage employees to quit. Instead, Riot Games is trying to reinforce that its members are staying not only for a paycheck, but because they love the studio and League of Legends.
"If someone gags on the unique flavor of our culture, they'd be doing themselves and the company a disservice to hang on just for the paycheck."
