A potential leak of Just Cause 3 hit the Internet, and fans of the open-world action game might not like the direction Just Cause is heading in.

Four screens were posted by Xbox-Underground (all viewable below) showing off some of the action that we'd expect from a Just Cause game. We see Rico (or who we assume to be Rico) as he shoots and blasts his way through enemies and areas. We're even shown a beautiful shot of a mountain from way up in the sky, showing off some of the game's visual attributes.

The fourth screenshot of the menu screen makes things interesting. We see a list of purchasable items with some kind of currency that Rico doesn't seem to have. Next to that we see "Purchase More" and a button prompt. We don't want to assume anything, but that smells like a micro-transaction.

Micro-transactions usually mean a free-to-play format, so the possibility of a free-to-play Just Cause game has just risen immensely. Some non-F2P games have done the micro-transaction thing, so perhaps this is just an optional part of the game, but we won't know for sure until Square Enix or Avalanche Software reveals the game for certain. Here's hoping for a reveal at VGX should it happen this year.
