In excellent news to both the PC gaming and modding communities, a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 is likely on the way.

According to Eurogamer, Rockstar will put out a PC version of GTA 5 by the end of the year, and it will come much sooner than we think. The PC edition of Grand Theft Auto 5 is allegedly anticipated for a first quarter of 2014 release based on the previous release schedule of Grand Theft Auto 4.

Grand Theft Auto 4 was originally released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 29, 2008, with its PC version coming out eight months later that following December. Given that nearly six months have passed since GTA 5's release on Sept. 17, 2013, we are less than two months away from closing the same gap that was done with GTA 4's PC release.

This past August, Nvidia's senior director of investor relations, Chris Evenden, mentioned a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 by accident, which Evenden retracted a few days later. GTA 5's PC release also opens the floodgates to the plethora of talented modders out the in the gaming world, who have created some absolutely fantastic pieces in many open world titles.
