We're getting one step closer to finding the greatest world warrior out there now that we have the game lineup for Evo 2014.

Thanks to Shoryuken, we now know which fighting games will be played at the 2014 Evolution Championship Series. Fighting game enthusiasts can expect the following brawlers each having a world tournament at Evo 2014: Ultra Street Fighter 4, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Killer Instinct, Injustice: Gods Among Us, King of Fighters 13 and BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma.

Despite such a large Super Smash Bros. following, it still seems as if Nintendo won't give the okay for letting Smash Bros. be played at such a large event (what, do they want people to use Friend Codes?). A Nintendo representative has said the following in regards to Smash Bros. being allowed at Evo: "While we are engaged in preliminary discussions with Evo about their upcoming event in July, the potential role of any Nintendo software at this event is undetermined at this time."

Meanwhile, Capcom and NetherRealm Studios remain supportive in having their games being featured at the tournament, which is a great sentiment given that this is the pinnacle of what fighting games were meant to achieve in the gaming community.

As always, there will be multiple qualifying tournaments all over the country, along with an official Road to Evo multi-stop tournament, details will be released over at Shoryuken in regards to each stop and local tournament planned.

Will Justin Wong or Daigo bring home more trophies to their collection, or will more newcomers come to steal their crowns like they did last year? Evo 2014 will take place from July 11-13 at the Hilton Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
