Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition is coming out soon. This brand new edition of one of the most well received fighting games will include all of the original game’s downloadable content and will introduce the game to next-gen consoles. However, Netherrealm has said that they are considering producing even more Injustice content, which we hope means even more characters. Since we are huge comic book geeks, we have put together this list of 10 Character We Want to See in Injustice: Gods Among Us in order to look at some greats of the DC Universe that haven’t made it into the game… yet.

    Red Hood

You can call him Red Robin or whatever you like, but Jason Todd was one of the coolest Batman character’s in the DC universe. Death couldn’t even hold JT down. He has all the skill of Batman and none of the moral code. In Injustice, Red Hood could have a gadget based fighting style, like Batman or Batgirl, but tweaked to be incredibly aggressive and brutal. His superhero trait could have something to do with traps or bombs, as he very frequently is seen setting up bombings in the comics. Sure, there are a lot of Batman characters in Injustice already, but Red Hood deserves to be on this list of 10 Characters We Want to See in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

    Beast Boy

There are not enough Teen Titan combatants in Injustice. There’s Cyborg and Raven and that’s it. Meanwhile, Batman alone gets Nightwing, Bane, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Catwoman, and many more. Beast Boy could be a stance style character, with a super hero trait that allows him to shapeshift into different animal forms. Powerful forms, like a gorilla, could be grapplers like Solomon Grundy, while faster forms, like a cheetah, could be an aggro mix-up of characters like The Flash.

    Brainiac

Why isn’t the humanoid form of Brainiac in Injustice: Gods Among Us? He was one of Superman’s greatest villains and he is relegated to nothing more than a stage hazard. Anyone who watched the old Superman animated series fell in love with this character. It’s a bit hard to think up mechanics for him. Maybe he could have a sort of “overload” superhero trait. Frankly, he should just be in the game for cool factor alone.

    Mr. Mxyzptlk

Another problem with Injustice: Gods Among Us is that it’s too dark. Even though the game was made by Netherrealm, its not Mortal Kombat. Let’s get some lightheartedness in there. Mxyzptlk is a great cartoony character to include. His ability to completely break reality whenever he pleases would be a great superhero trait. He could alter the opponent’s move-set or something. That would be cool.

    Danny the Street

Speaking of lighthearted characters, Danny the Street would be an awesome inclusion in Injustice because it’s… well… a street. Wouldn’t it be cool to fight sentient transvestite geography? Danny probably couldn’t be a playable character, but it sure would make an interesting bonus stage or S.T.A.R. lab mission. Injustice even has mechanics for stage hazards. All Netherrealm would have to do is make a character whose attacks are nothing but stage hazards.

    The Blue Beetle

The Blue Beetle has been quite the fan favorite DC character recently. Specifically we mean Jaime Reyes and The Scarab, which creates his powerful battle suit. Jaime could be another tech based character like Cyborg. The Scarab has the ability to form weapons out of its body at a mere thought. So Blue Beetle’s superhero trait could give his normal projectile throwing properties, like Strider’s Ouroboros from Marvel vs. Capcom 3. If not that, then he could have increased range like The Martian Manhunter or maybe even a flight mode. The endless possibilities make The Blue Beetle a perfect fit for our list of 10 Characters We Want to See in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

    Dr. Fate

Dr. Fate is a Deux Ex Machina of the DC Universe and would be an awesome addition to Injustice. Not only does he have almost limitless magic, he also has flight, super strength, near invulnerability, and telekinesis. For as awesome as Zatanna is in Injustice, Dr. Fate would be that much cooler. Not only that, but there have been no fewer than seven Dr. Fates in the DC Universe. Think of the extra costume potential!

    Starfire

We said it before, there needs to be more Teen Titans in Injustice: Gods Among Us. Starfire could be another power style character, complete with flight and numerous projectiles. She would likely be another aggressive character, with a few projectiles that allow her to cover her approach. It would be really cool if her super hero trait was her flight mode, allowing her to cancel in and out of it to produce more combo opportunities. Not to mention… she’s kinda hot.

    Negative Man

Negative Man, though not quite well known by most DC fans, is a goldmine of interesting gameplay mechanics. His abilities are based off the ability to separate a radioactive “soul self” from his body, which has the ability of flight, intangibility, and even radioactive projectile throwing. Obviously, this means that Negative Man would be a shadow character in Injustice: Gods Among Us. You could use his super hero trait to separate his soul self from his main body and create sandwich style combos and mix-ups from both sides of the opponent.

    Darkseid

Finally, we have the character that we most want to see in Injustice: Gods Among Us, Darkseid. Darkseid got a bum rap when Injustice was created. He was a playable character in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, and is the ONLY playable character from that game to not make their way into Injustice. Instead, he is just a stage transition effect. He’s not even a stage hazard! He’s just a cutscene that plays out whenever you knock someone off the edge of a stage! Come on Netherrealm. Darkseid already has a move-list that you can exploit. There’s no reason not to put him in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
