Activision has swapped Microsoft for Sony by giving the PS4 access to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's DLC first.

Activision and Treyarch have premiered their multiplayer gameplay footage of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 at E3 2015 alongside with some rather alarming news. Just as Activision did with Microsoft last year by giving early access to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's DLC to Xbox One players, the PlayStation 4 will be having early access to Black Ops 3's DLC. Despite how festive E3 is supposed to be for the entire industry, we're starting to hate content exclusivity between consoles — the only people who lose are the fans, not Sony or Microsoft.

Timed DLC exclusivity is never going to be a deciding factor in helping a person choose between a PS4 or an Xbox One when it's time to buy one. As a result, timed DLC exists only as a hindrance for fans and to let Sony and Microsoft stick their tongues out at one another.

It won't be long before entire DLC expansions are released specifically for the Xbox One or PS4 without ever reaching the opposite console. While we're talking about system exclusives, PS4 owners will have access to Black Ops 3's multiplayer beta first, which starts this August.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be launching on Nov. 6 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
