This exciting, new trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight showcases the new "Dual Play" mechanic that lets you play as Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing.

After an awesome set of countdown trailers that teased the returns of Azrael, Catwoman and Nightwing, Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Interactive have released a badass, new trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight, and it finally answers a lot of questions we have about the game while inspiring many more. This trailer introduces the Dual Play mechanic, which lets you switch seamlessly between Batman and his allies. The trailer reveals that Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman are some of the allies you'll be able to control. Here's to hoping there are a few more of Batman's friends you'll be able to play as and that we'll be able to explore the open world of Gotham while playing them. Unfortunately, this Dual Play mechanic will remain exclusive to single-player gameplay, which means there will be no co-op. One of our biggest complaints about Batman: Arkham City was that Robin and Nightwing were exclusive to the game's Challenge Maps, and we were really hoping we'd be able to use them in the open world environments.

The trailer showcases the magnitude of how serious things are getting, with Scarecrow rallying all of Gotham's super villains under his cause along with hundreds of lackeys. Alongside Scarecrow is the Arkham Knight, who has a militarized army under his command. As all this chaos is being unleashed on the streets of Gotham, the mysterious Azrael has returned to remind the Batman that his city will burn. Thank goodness Bruce is getting help this time around.

Batman: Arkham Knight will launch on June 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Pre-ordering Rocksteady's final Arkham game will let you play as Harley Quinn for some Challenge Maps. GameStop pre-orders will have exclusive access to the Red Hood Story Pack DLC alongside the Harley Quinn content. Unfortunately, it has not been revealed whether GameStop's Red Hood DLC is a timed exclusive or not. Other retailers, such as Walmart and Target, will have exclusive Batman and Batmobile skins that have yet to be revealed.

We'll end things with that iconic shot of Batman alongside Dick Grayson and Tim Drake:
