The upcoming IMC Rising map pack for Titanfall has a lot of fans excited to get back into their Titans, but no one knew what to expect from these new maps outside of their names. Respawn has finally revealed one of those maps, Backwater, and it looks like we'll be fighting through the good ol' country.

Backwater is a battleground set in a hidden bootlegging colony known for making moonshine. We're not making that up, that's what the official reveal says right at the top: "High in the mountains, ex-IMC pilot Barker and his fellow colonists have made a comfortable living by producing moonshine in this hidden bootlegging colony." Suddenly the name "Backwater" makes a lot more sense.

The reveal says that the map is "defined by its elevation changes. The rice paddies give Titans room to dash and duel in open fields, but gaining the high ground in the center of the map is often the superior tactical option." Looking at the overhead map below, that makes a lot of sense. However, the underground sections described in the blog post add an interesting strategic aspect to just rushing toward the middle of the map. We think we're going to have a lot of fun here, and this is just one of the three maps in the new pack. What else does it have in store?

Titanfall: IMC Rising launches this fall for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
