Yoshi 3DS XL Confirmed for North American Release

There are no wails of Baby Mario to turn you off from this Nintendo 3DS XL system featuring the Mushroom Kingdom's lead dinosaur.

Coinciding with the release of Yoshi's New Island, Nintendo has announced it will release a new edition of the Nintendo 3DS XL with a design oriented around Mario's trusty sidekick, Yoshi. While this 3DS design utilizes a simple, retro drawing of Yoshi, the lack of Baby Mario (or any Mario for that matter) on its cover is intriguing. It sends the subliminal message that you must try to open the handheld and play Yoshi's New Island in order to help Yoshi find Mario on actual game itself.

The Yoshi Edition Nintendo 3DS XL will launch on March 14. It will have a suggested retail price of $199.99. Unlike some previous bundles, the game this 3DS XL is tied to will not be included. Yoshi's New Island will also be launching on March 14 for the Nintendo 3DS for $39.99.
