We've waited this long for a new Wolfenstein game, so surely we can wait a little more? News has broken that Wolfenstein: The New Order will not be released during its original launch window of Q4 2013.

According to Polygon, Bethesda Softworks Vice President of PR and Marketing Pete Hines said that the release of The New Order will be delayed into 2014.

"Working on next-gen and current gen definitely has an impact, you're developing for two different things. The fact that the next-gen stuff is still moving is also definitely a factor. But the most important thing was definitely just looking where it was at, what they needed to polish," Hines said. "Because it's just not trying to be a shooter, because it's trying to be a shooter that also has driving elements, story elements, narrative, stealth sections — each one of those has to be excellent. It's not just like we're making a shooter, where if the shooting is good, then all 16 hours of the game will be good because it's all we're doing."

The game has been in development at MachineGames for a good while, but Hines said that they don't mind taking a few more months to make sure The New Order has all of the polish it needs just to get it out immediately.

What do you think about the delay? Would you rather just have the finished product at the end of this year or allow MachineGames perfect the game, even if it means a huge delay? Let us know in the comments.
