Platinum Games and Activision have posted a new gameplay trailer for Transformers: Devastation, the third-person action-brawler featuring more than meets the eye.

Activision unveiled a new trailer for Transformers: Devastation at San Diego Comic-Con, and we're loving its gameplay. We get to see some of our favorite Autobots and Decepticons go at it while adhering to Platinum Games' signature style of third-person brawling. This new trailer features four out of the five playable Autobots in the game, including Optimus Prime, Bumblee, Sideswipe and Wheeljack, taking on the likes of Megatron and Starscream. The fifth playable Autobot in Devastation will be the uncontrollable Dinobot leader, Grimlock, who was probably the only redeeming quality of Transformers: Age of Extinction.

We also got to see the Constructicons assembled into Devastator. We can't wait to see how Devastation's gameplay changes with an opponent that big, considering that Optimus Prime isn't that much bigger that Scrapper, Hook, Bonecrusher, Long Haul, Mixmaster or Scavenger. This makes us wonder if the Technobots (Computron), Protectobots (Defensor), Stunticons (Menasor) or Metroplex will be included in the game as well. Nevertheless, we're certainly digging how you can transform into your vehicle mode mid-combo in order to close the gap between you and your opponent as your melee hits knock them back.

While no release date has been set, we can expect Transformers: Devastation sometime later this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
