StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm has been out for just a little over a week and it's already destroying records.

According to a press release from Blizzard, more than 1.1 million fans tuned into the StarCraft 2 Major League Gaming Pro Circuit Winter Championship competition.

The Heart of the Swarm expansion also managed to sell about 1.1 million million copies worldwide within just two days of release. This number accounts for both retail and digital sales.

The MLG event took place in Dallas, Texas and was broadcast on Twitch, which reported more than 157,000 concurrent viewers watching the Heart of the Swarm events at peak times.

Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard, said, "We want to thank the global StarCraft community for the incredible passion and support they've shown for Heart of the Swarm. In addition to a brand-new single-player campaign, we added a ton of enhancements with this expansion to make StarCraft II even more fun to play, and more exciting to watch. We're pleased to see gamers and eSports fans around the world enjoying Heart of the Swarm.”
