Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Michael Denny may have inadvertently revealed the fate of the company's fabled Gran Turismo franchise.

With all the talk of what Sony's PlayStation 4 console is capable of, and what games are appearing on the system, the company doesn't want people to lose sight of great games still coming to the PlayStation 3. In an interview with Silicon Republic (spotted by CVG), SCEE's senior VP Michael Denny talked about a handful of such titles.

"Look at the games coming out on the PlayStation 3 like The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, GT6," Denny said. "And then on the third-party side of things another fantastic Assassin's Creed, GTA. It’s important for our content to have that kind of longevity because, as I was saying [about the PS Vita], the games that come through are going to get better and better over time."

The funny thing is, GT6, or Gran Turismo 6, hasn't even been announced yet. While there have been two GT games on each Sony console since the first PlayStation, Polyphony Digital hasn't given any indication a sixth game in the series is in the works. Perhaps the developer will have some surprises in store at E3, but Denny's comments shouldn't just be taken with a grain of salt. After all, he did announce a new Assassin's Creed game before Black Flag was revealed.
