This new trailer for Frictional Games' first-person horror title, SOMA, left us questioning what it means to be human.

We're just a few days away from the release of Frictional Games' SOMA. This sci-fi horror game puts you on the underwater facility the PATHOS-II, where your radio is dead, your food is just about gone and the machines are starting to believe they're human. After speaking to some of these robots, you'll be questioning whether or not you're a robot yourself. Unfortunately, I'm a bit iffy on why this new trailer for SOMA included that revelation. I really hope that wasn't a major plot point that was spoiled by the trailer. Nevertheless, I have faith in the team that brought us Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

Following in the path of Alien: Isolation, you'll be left in this desolate research station. Many kinds of robots and other lifeforms are out there in dark trying to hunt you down. Using a first-person perspective, you'll have to use stealth as your primary means of evading these metallic monstrosities. It's not like you can do much damage to giant robots with just your fists. Watching your human arms flash to reveal robotic appendages inspired some big questions about the game's narrative, especially after seeing the other robots in the game talking to you in very human ways.

SOMA will be launching on Sept. 22 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
