With all the blood that spills throughout the Mortal Kombat franchise, we're glad Sub-Zero and the gang are getting new clothes. Let's just hope it's not all paid DLC.

MP1ST reports that Mortal Kombat X will be getting more alternate costumes than any Fatality-filled fight preceding it according to executive producer Shaun Himmerick. This will likely be a mix of in-game unlocks as well as post-release content. For Mortal Kombat 9, retro outfits for the likes of Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Jade and other classic characters were pre-order bonuses at various retailers, which infuriated a lot of people who were hoping to get all of its extra costumes. This time around, getting Goro on the roster is the big pre-order bonus, which is a bad thing and a good thing. It's bad for those who are tired of feeling forced into pre-ordering and would like their game to include all of its available content regardless of whether or not they put money down on a game before its release. Good for people who pre-order.

This increased number of alternate costumes could be why Mortal Kombat X's Kombat Pack (its season pass) is selling for $29.99 whereas most games sell theirs for a little less. The Kombat Pack is expected to contain character-themed bundles that are likely to include various bonus costumes. We have also learned that High Voltage Studio will be porting Mortal Kombat X over to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Be ready to test your might when Mortal Kombat X launches on April 14 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

No change of clothes is needed to watch these Fatalities:
