Microsoft Dev Teams Reorganize as Kudo Tsunoda Takes Charge
Microsoft's Corporate VP and Creative Director of the Kinect and HoloLens, Kudo Tsunoda, steps up to lead multiple Microsoft studios and has announced all sorts of major changes in its management.
Xbox's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has announced on the Xbox Wire that Kudo Tsunoda has stepped up to the plate to lead multiple Microsoft development teams across the world. Tsunoda is primarily known for his revolutionary work with the Xbox Kinect and the upcoming HoloLens project. Now, Tsunoda will be leading multiple Microsoft teams, including Decisive Games, Twisted Pixel, Press Play, Lionhead, Rare and Lift London, announcing many changes in leadership across these studios. Tsunoda also mentioned that he'll be working closely with the teams working on Quantum Break and Crackdown.
"One of the things I took away from the Kinect is that if you're going to build a new technology or a new type of gameplay experience, that it's important to make sure the first products you ship are really based around the people who are going to use them the most," Tsunoda said during Xbox's announcement video.
Tsunoda hinted that Microsoft mishandled the Kinect and failed to reel-in a solid core experience with the motion-tech accessory, which he will seek to avoid with the HoloLens. The new leader also mentioned Black Tusk should have some new news to reveal soon about its upcoming Gears of War project. Phil Spencer will still be in charge of Xbox, but it looks like Kudo Tsunoda will be the second most important man in Microsoft's gaming department.
