Here's a blast from the recent past: Metal Gear Online will be coming back, accompanying Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

According to a tweet from Geoff Keighley, Metal Gear Online is set to return, with the announcement to be made at The Game Awards next week.

Keighley informs us that Hideo Kojima himself will premiere the game. According to Polygon, Metal Gear Online will act as The Phantom Pain's multiplayer. Kojima said in an interview with CVG that Metal Gear Online "right now is being created at our LA studio as well as us. We're working closely to create a vast multiplayer for all the fans."

The Game Awards 2014 will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014. You can find more information about the awards show through this link, including the nominees, the jury and its advisors.
