In today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced two new Mario titles coming to the Wii U.

He didn't say what they were called or give any concrete details about them, but he said that the Wii U Mario game will be in 3D, so expect to see Mario's block-breaking fist coming towards your face in the near future.

Iwata also spoke of a new Mario Kart game for the Wii U. This comes as no surprise, since like he says, there has been an iteration of the series on every console they've made since the SNES.

These were only little teasers, yes, but Iwata promises to show the games in their playable form at this year's E3. We'll keep you updated as soon as we learn any more about these two titles, but let us know in the meantime what you think about the announcements.
