Capcom is getting ready for the big fight by partnering with Mad Catz to make its official Street Fighter V fight sticks and control pads.

A long, long time ago, Mad Catz was primarily known for their third-party controller pads for the NES, Sega Genesis and SNES. Somewhere along the line, Mad Catz also released the GameShark, bringing Game Genie-like coding to the consoles of the late 1990s. Now, Mad Catz has become one of the premier video game peripheral companies in the world. IGN reports that Capcom has partnered with the gaming accessory company to produce an official line of various controllers and accessories for Street Fighter V. We should note that three of the last six Ultra Street Fighter IV EVO winners use Mad Catz devices as their primary fight stick/control pad of choice. Mad Catz has been making Capcom-licensed peripherals since SFIV launched back in 2008 (has it really been that long?). Mad Catz has also announced that it's in a three-year agreement to be the "Premier Sponsor" of the Capcom Pro Tour. We can't wait to see what kind of sick arcade sticks Mad Catz will have in store for us next year.

Street Fighter V will have a Spring 2016 launch on PlayStation 4 and PC. There is likely going to be cross-platform play between the PS4 and PC version and Mad Catz' official SFV peripherals will likely be released during this season as well.

Here's to hoping there aren't any useless buttons on these controllers:
