The intro cinematic to Halo 5: Guardians has it all: orbital drops, Fireteam Osiris, war against the Covenant, and Nathan Fillion.

343 Industries has released the opening cutscene to Halo 5: Guardians, and it's as amazing as you were hoping. Surprisingly, there is no Master Chief in the intro. The focus on Spartan Locke and Fireteam Osiris even in the game's opening cutscene is a grim reminder of how stacked the odds are against Master Chief. In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if Chief formally passes the torch to Agent Locke (after their inevitable shootout).

As expected, one of the members of Fireteam Osiris is ODST hero and Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck. Returning to provide his voice and likeness for Buck is Firefly and Castle lead Nathan Fillion. This 3.5-minute-long intro features Fireteam Osiris gearing up to take on the Forerunners. Osiris needs to rescue Dr. Catherine Halsey, who is with a Covenant leader, and Locke will have to take him out. After descending from an orbital drop, Fireteam Osiris start clearing house while on the move. All kinds of Covenant forces get easily obliterated by Locke and his Spartan squad. We have to admit, watching the crew work so efficiently in tandem looks beautiful and foreshadows the team-oriented escapades you'll experience in Halo 5: Guardians' main campaign. We can't wait to see what happens when Agent Locke and Fireteam Osiris take on Master Chief and the infamous Blue Team.

Halo 5: Guardians will launch on Oct. 27 for Xbox One.
