The top Halo map in all of franchise history, the original's Blood Gulch, was remade as Coagulation in Halo 2. With Halo: The Master Chief Collection celebrating the tenth anniversary of Halo 2, Coagulation is getting its own overhaul, once again reviving the ol' Blood Gulch.

The Xbox Wire has all of the information on the updated map, now called Bloodline. Among the big changes are Hornets from Halo 3, a third base in the middle of the gulch fitted with a Banshee and a Warthog, and an EMP located at each base to protect teams from the onslaught of enemies riding vehicles because that's what happens in Blood Gulch.

We really like how 343 is overhauling maps like Coagulation for the Halo 2 Anniversary Collection. Most HD upgrades just focus on visuals, but here brand new features are being added to bring old experiences into the new era of gaming. HD remakes are great and all, but if the game still plays like it was made in 2004, no amount of pretty color upgrades is going to change that.

We suspect Halo 2 Anniversary and the rest of the Master Chief Collection will understand that, but we'll find out for sure when the game launches on Nov. 11 exclusively on Xbox One.
