‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Will Soon Be Guarding The Minecraft Galaxy
Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot are all about to get the blocky treatment, as the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' will soon be coming to Minecraft.
Marvel editor Ben Morse announced the news via his Twitter during San Diego Comic-Con last week:
The five costumes will be available for Xbox One and Xbox 360 for now, with no word yet as to when the other versions will receive the update.
We love these types of Minecraft additions, because now we get to make Master Chief take his rightful place as 'Guardian of the Galaxy' after the recent Halo update. Wouldn't he be perfect for this squad? It almost makes too much sense. We're not sure which of these five we'll play as first, but we do know that we're excited to download them.
We do have one observation, however: a human-size Rocket Raccoon is downright scary. He looks more like a werewolf than a raccoon... a werewolf with a penchant for explosives... and the thought of that is horrifying. We also hope that Groot gets to speak in Minecraft, because his lines are always crucial to anything he appears in.
With the Guardians coming to Minecraft, we can think of a few other Marvel superheroes that should get the Minecraft treatment. We've seen Spider-Man and the Avengers, but how about some Inhumans action? That'd be sweet.
'Guardians of the Galaxy' hits theaters this Aug. 1.
