The King of the Monsters is making his official return to the video game format with a new trailer. Watch Jet Jaguar, Mothra, Gigan, Ghidorah and other kaiju all try to take on Godzilla.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that its monster-fueled, city-demolishing fighting game, Godzilla, will be getting a Western release for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 this year. We were worried that yet another good-looking Godzilla game would have remained in Japan. Luckily, this beast is rising out of the waters to demolish North America, and he's brought some of his friends. Just to hint towards some of the awesome kaiju we're going to be fighting, there will be Destroyah, Mothra (both moth and larva forms), Gigan, Biollante, Hedorah, Ghidorah, Jet Jaguar and more.

We're certainly digging the behemoth vibe we're getting from this gameplay, as every move Godzilla or his enemies do bear semblance on the human-filled environment around them. Every move, whether a tail swing or a ranged attack, feels slow, lumbering and powerful, which is quite the way we want it. We're digging how the buildings crumble and have similar explosions to the Japanese films of old that we loved growing up. Godzilla has got some awesome tank-like controls to really simulate his slow speed and hulking movement. We just hope the 2014 film version of the monster and the 1998 dinosaur-like abomination of the beast are each included so we can stomp them both out with the real version of Godzilla.

Godzilla is expected to emerge on July 14 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
