While most developers would be content to provide the occasional patch to fix a few bugs here and there, Lucid Games is setting the bar higher by adding tons of new levels, abilities, and modes to Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions.

This new update to Geometry Wars 3 includes a massive expansion to Adventure Mode, with 40 new stages of geom-collecting, shape-shooting, boss-fighting action. With these stages comes the new Sweeper Drone, the Detonator super ability and a revised progression system to allow players to easily move from level to level without forcing them to replay past levels for higher scores.

There's also a Hardcore Mode coming which disallows the use of the newly-added drones and super abilities for all the Geometry Wars purists out there. Hardcore Mode comes with its own shiny leaderboard for those proud Geometry Wars players to duke it out on and compare scores with one another like it was one big... Geometry contest.

Geometry Wars 3 has always been known for its fast, balanced, score-hunting gameplay; this third entry in the series did exactly what a good sequel should do by expanding on the core game elements while adding in awesome new features. With massive updates like this, it's clear that anyone with twitchy thumbs and a hunger for high scores should own this game.

The Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved update arrives on March 31st for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. The best part? This update is completely free. As for the game itself, it costs $14.99 for all platforms.
