FIFA 14 is Announced, Real Ball Physics Put on Display
FIFA 14 is officially on the way, giving fans of soccer (or football, depending on where you call home), another reason to drop some money to kick some virtual balls, now with a new mechanic called Pure Shot and more realistic physics!
The new FIFA title will come packed with a new feature called Pure Shot, which will make it so that players can adjust their stride and approach angle in order to send that ball flying past the goalie. Real Ball Physics will also guide the trajectory of balls based on distance and force, meaning that players can use a variety of shots such as dipping, low rising, and turbulent shots.
Some other features in the game include Protect the Ball, Teammate Intelligence, Sprint Dribble Turns, and Variable Dribble Turns. This all sounds like highly esoteric language, but it basically means that the game will be very good at making matches seem realistic by allowing players to play the way the real-world pros do.
There will also be a Global Scouting Network available so that players can scout for talent worldwide all year-round. Live scouting reports will be delivered to a new hub that places all of the scouting goodness at your fingertips.
According to the press release, FIFA 14 is also set to include the following features:
- Changes to the wildly popular FIFA Ultimate Team
- A new online Mode that will encourage social competition
- Multiple new features and benefits to EA SPORTS Football Club, the live service that is the heartbeat of FIFA
- Complete authenticity with more than 500 officially licensed clubs.
