After numerous hiccups in its development, the hell-raiser formerly known as Doom 4 will finally be unveiled at E3 2015.

Bethesda Softworks has released a teaser trailer for Doom, getting us hyped for its formal unveiling at E3 2015 next month. While the teaser doesn't reveal much, we do get what we have come to expect from the franchise: guns and hell-bred demons firing guns. Doom (formerly known as Doom 4) was originally announced to be in production back in mid-2008, back when John Carmack was still the head developer at Id Software. Five years later, it was revealed that development on Doom 4 was completely restarted. This new version of the game had a more scripted and cinematic approach to the story, featuring hell rising on Earth. Unfortunately, both the original and the 2013 rebooted versions of Doom 4 were met heavy criticism behind the scenes, as the original version was described as mediocre and the revamped version was far too heavy with its theatrics — it's pretty ironic that Doom was stuck in development hell.

With lead developer John Carmack jumping ship to Oculus VR, Id Software decided to restart development on the project yet again. As a result, Doom missed its intended last-gen launch and is being developed for PC and current-gen consoles. Fans at a closed door QuakeCon panel this year said that the new Doom would feature double jumping, vaulting, melee combat, finishing moves and various changes from the series' tried-and-true gameplay style of unloading a plethora of bullets onto an army of demons.

Bethesda Softworks will unleash hell at E3 2015 during its worldwide gameplay reveal of Doom on June 14 at 4:00 PM EST. We're also expecting Fallout 4 to be unveiled during this press conference as well (otherwise hell will really break out).
