Dead Space 3 Knocks Black Ops II Off Top Of Bestseller List
Call of Duty: Black Ops II was sitting pretty at the top of the sales list since its release last November. But now Isaac Clarke has come along to dismember it with a ripper and blast it down to the number two spot.According to sales information from the The NPD Group, the top five bestsellers in February were:
1. Dead Space 3
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops II
3. Crysis 3
4. NBA 2K13
5. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
The real surprise comes in down below number five. Ranking number six on the list is Aliens: Colonial Marines. It seems we get to play a little game called "one of these things is not like the other." The top five should be of no surprise to anyone, but, for whatever reason, the almost universally panned Aliens game clawed its way up to a decent spot on in top 10 bestselling games.
We think this anomaly could be due to the pre-order factor. It had a decent marketing campaign behind it that must have helped to fuel pre-order sales. We know that after the critical thrashing it received, people must have been avoiding it like a Xenormorph egg. We'll just have to wait and see if Aliens: Colonial Marines is knocked off the list. Why do you think it evidently sold so well?
