The Behemoth's over-the-top beat 'em up returns in Castle Crashers Remastered, which you can get for free if you had the original version for Xbox 360.

That's right, the zany and silly antics of Castle Crashers will be hopping over to the Xbox One this week. Best of all, The Behemoth announced that Castle Crashers Remastered will be free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers who already own the Xbox 360 original version. Courtesy of Polygon, The Behemoth is upgrading one of our favorite last-gen games for its big Xbox One debut. It has been seven years (!) since Castle Crashers first launched, and we're glad to see it still getting love from The Behemoth.

Here's a list of all the features being added to Castle Crashers Remastered:

-New multiplayer mini-game called Back Off Barbarian
-Five times larger texture sizes than the original!
-Twice the framerate of the original! (60 frames per second)
-Performance updates, gameplay tweaks
-Online multiplayer performance updates
-Ability to find games easier and quicker online

Castle Crashers Remastered will be launching on Sept. 9 for $14.99. Those who already have the Xbox 360 original version purchased on their Xbox Live Gold account will be able to get the Remastered edition for free. Once it hits Sept. 21, the game will be $5 for those who owned it before. Lastly, The Behemoth announced that Castle Crashers will be playable on the Xbox One sometime in the future via backwards compatibility. Of course, all the Xbox One version's Remastered bonuses won't be available when playing this way.
