We have some good news for Mortal Kombat X fans hoping that Rain, Baraka and Sindel would join the game's list of playable characters.

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has suggested that the non-playable characters you fought in Mortal Kombat X's story mode, which include Sindel, Baraka and Rain, would be playable through an upcoming piece of downloadable content called a Story Pack. Players get to fight against these characters throughout the game's story, but they are officially not on the game's roster. Sindel is Kitana's mother who was resurrected into a powerful and evil being by Shao Kahn in the last game. In MKX, her undead body is controlled by Quan Chi. Baraka appears as a general of Outworld who is loyal to Shao Kahn and Milenna. The purple ninja formerly known as Rain is loyal to Mileena as well.

Just days after the game was released, one talented modder was able to make Sindel, Baraka and Rain all playable by swapping them out with Shinnok. The modder realized that most of these characters were as bare bones as they were in the game's story mode. This means that they only had a couple of special moves, no X-Ray Attacks, no Fatalities or any alternate outfits. In order to make them on par with the rest of the Mortal Kombat crew, NetherRealm would have to add three fighting variations, outfit changes, more dialogue, more moves, Fatalities and much more. Then again, they have a great basis to start from if Sindel, Baraka and Rain are the characters included in this Story Pack.
