In the new trailer for Bayonetta 2, the witch herself asks if we missed her. In a word? Yes.

The video is rife with the crazy, over-the-top action you've come to expect from the series. At the same time, it's also filled with a lot of the ridiculous characters and dialogue that you've come to expect. It's a good thing we play Bayonetta for the insane action and not for depth of story or the jargon that makes up the world of Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages.

In Bayonetta 2, Bayonetta will face off against the Luman Sages, one of which is present towards the tail-end of the trailer, clad in white. He summons a gigantic beast with two heads. Not to be outdone, Bayonetta summons her own gigantic figure.

There's no set release date for Bayonetta 2 yet, but according to Polygon, it will arrive on the Wii U sometime this summer in Japan. No word on a North American date, but we'll keep you updated when that information is made available.
