Sega has unveiled Alien: Isolation's Survivor Mode, which will have five terrifying add-on packs filled with Xenomorph-inspired frights.

Alien: Isolation's Survivor Mode will force you into a one-on-one match with the Xenomorph (or a murderous android) aboard the Sevastopol station. Much like the game's overall story mode, you will have limited resources on each stage and an apex predator with concentrated acid for blood (or... a milk-blooded android) on your tail. Isolation will ship with one playable map for Survivor Mode -- because DLC money (Nostromo anyone?). Starting on Oct. 28, the first of five add-on packs will be released for Survivor Mode, which will have three new maps, a new playable character and new enemy types. As time passes, Survivor Mode will get more add-on packs, each containing more maps and challenges. These add-ons will be a part of Isolation's Season Pass, with the final pack scheduled to be out by March 2015.

Alien: Isolation will hatch on Oct. 7 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Make sure you also check the latest gameplay trailer, showing why the ventilation system isn't the best kind of hiding place.

It's going to get kind of gruesome if you get into the vents with the Xenomorph chasing you.
