Yoshi's Woolly World

If cute things make you barf, then make sure the trash can is next to you every time you boot up Yoshi's Woolly World. Every single thing in the game could melt even the coldest heart. The enemies are cute even though they're dangerous, the Yoshis are insufferably adorable, and the unlockable costume colors for the Yoshis are just the best thing ever, especially with amiibos. Duck Hunt Yoshi? Ness Yoshi? They and the rest of Yoshi's Woolly World constantly made rainbows spew out of my mouth... but was it any good?

Nintendo has unveiled its release schedule for the rest of 2015, and there are some surprises in the mix, including Star Fox Zero.

I can already see that Yoshi's Woolly World is going to shock a lot of people. Not because of anything controversial -- how can anything starring Yoshi be controversial? -- but because of the surprising complexity of some of the game's puzzles. I figured that this game would lean heavily on its super-cute, d'awwww-inspiring world of yarn and wool, pulling in players that way but never really challenging their platforming abilities. After demoing the game with a Nintendo rep at E3, hoo boy was I wrong.

Just like Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U, Nintendo's new Amiibo NFC figures have gotten an official release date and price from the Big N.

Nintendo laid out all of its plans for the upcoming holiday season, including console bundles, its game lineup, and new information on the Amiibo figurines.

Despite massive losses over the past year, Nintendo is still planning on going all out at Gamescom in a few weeks.

At their E3 press event today, Nintendo announced that Yoshi's Woolly World will be coming to the Wii U next year.
