After several patch delays, fights with Microsoft, development hold ups, developer changeovers, and one incredibly successful crowd funding campaign, Skullgirls has finally, FINALLY, made it to the PC. Indie fighter Skullgirls was updated to version 1.01, also known as Slightly Different Edition, in November of last year for PS3 owners. Unfortunately, Xbox 360 owners are still waiting on the patch’s release.
Lab Zero, the developer behind Skullgirls, just can’t seem to catch a break. After raising over $829,000 to help expand the title with free downloadable content, new characters, new stages, new voice packs, and more, PayPal has become afraid that fans, who are unsatisfied with the game, will demand chargebacks for their donations if their favorite characters do not get voted in during the Mystery
Along with the heaploads of new Skullgirls DLC that will be made as a result of the astoundingly successful Skullgirls Indiegogo campaign, lead developer Mike “Mike Z” Zaimont is prepping a brand new balance patch as well which he previewed at last night’s Salty Cupcakes event.
The Skullgirls Indiegogo fundraiser closed today to the tune of $829,829. Not only was this enough to blow past all planned stretch goals, but it was also enough to grant Mane 6 a free license for the Z Engine, the engine that Skullgirls runs on.
