True Blue, Part 10: And Justice For All Worlds
Welcome to the tenth installment of True Blue, our weekly recap of Archie Comics‘ crossover event between the Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man series, “Worlds Unite.” Each installment, we’ll recap the notable moments of the latest chapter in “Worlds Unite” with Archie Action Editor Vincent Lovallo, and take a look at what lies ahead for the next chapter of the crossover event. Previously in “Worlds Unite,” our dutiful heroes ventured forth into mysterious new universes through Genesis Portals opened by Sigma in hopes to both stop his Unity Engines from activating, and to recruit some help in bringing the bigger bad down. Archie had been promoting the cameos of characters from various Capcom and Sega franchises in the lead up to the crossover, and though we'd been teased with the arrival of Street Fighter's World Warriors, this last chapter was the first time we really saw any of the new faces from these classic games.

Welcome to the ninth installment of True Blue, our weekly recap of Archie Comics‘ crossover event between the Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man series, “Worlds Unite.” Each installment, we’ll recap the notable moments of the latest chapter in “Worlds Unite” with Archie Action Editor Vincent Lovallo, and take a look at what lies ahead for the next chapter of the crossover event. Previously in "Worlds Unite," while under siege from the Freedom Fighters and Robot Masters, Sigma kicked off his massive universe invasion plan. While Sigma's Mavericks were holding the attention of the heroes, a select group began taking Unity Engines through Genesis Portals. Sonic, Mega Man and the rest of the good guys finally manage to subdue the attacking forces above Lost Hex, but not without the aid of Sticks and Street Fighter's World Warriors. Finally able to regroup, and beneath Sigma's attention (for now), our true blue heroes craft a plan for an invasion of their own, and hope to put a stop to Sigma's machinations for good.

Welcome to the eighth installment of True Blue, our weekly recap of Archie Comics‘ crossover event between the Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man series, “Worlds Unite.” Each installment, we’ll recap the notable moments of the latest chapter in “Worlds Unite” with Archie Action Editor Vincent Lovallo, and take a look at what lies ahead for the next chapter of the crossover event. Previously in “Worlds Unite,” the Zeti used their powers to take control of the Robot Masters, pitting Mega Man and his friends against Sonic and the Freedom Fighters. It was an epic battle, but Wily and Eggman came up with a disruptor ray to shut down the robots and stun the Zeti long enough for the good guys to prevail. Though everyone needed time to recuperate, Sigma's newly evolved form bursts forth from Lost Hex. Not only will the heroes have to contend with the bigger, badder Sigma 2.0, they're also faced with taking on every single Maverick you can think of, and even some you can't. The battle for Lost Hex has clearly only just begun, and our heroes are going to need every last bit of help they can get.

TT Games Talks New Moves, Characters For Lego Avengers
This year, TT Games continues its brief tradition of rotating comic book Lego game releases from Marvel and DC with Lego Marvel's Avengers. Based on the two Avengers films, Lego Avengers will allow you to play through both movies with the actual cast doing the voice overs. No new audio will be recorded of course; like Lego The Hobbit, this game will reuse the dialogue from the films in place of having actors like Robert Downey, Jr or Chris Hemsworth reprising their roles. TT Games held a small interview session before the panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, and we spoke with producer Matt Ellison about the upcoming action game. As the third Lego game TT will be releasing this year (Lego Jurassic World is available now, and Lego Dimensions arrives this fall), we discussed what makes Lego Marvel's Avengers different and what new elements would be incorporated, from characters to mechanics, to keep the Lego experience fresh.

Sonic Boom's Bill Freiberger Talks TV, Comics and Fandom
This week, Archie Comics' Sonic Boom series introduces television show writer Bill Freiberger to the comic book fold. As one of the writers on the animated series, it's safe to say Freiberger is familiar with the characters. So what happens when you give a writer used to working with a tight budget the freedom to tell whatever kind of story he wants?

Hotline Miami Jacket Kickstarter Makes the Digital Physical
Last August, ESC Toys and Dennaton Games turned to Kickstarter in an attempt to bring the protagonist of Hotline Miami to life in action figure form. The hope was to turn Jacket into a sixth-scale collectible, with all manner of accessories and authentic clothing pulled from the game itself to accompany him. With a fairly modest $60,000 goal, the venture was funded in less than 24 hours, and went on to secure nearly two and a half times its target by the time all was said and done.

How Impact Winter's Kickstarter Failure Became Steam Success
In October 2014, a little-known UK indie studio launched a Kickstarter campaign for Impact Winter, a survival RPG described as “Fallout meets Oregon Trail.” It was an ambitious project for the small development team, with the Kickstarter description touting “open-world gameplay with dynamic weather, haunting interiors and fearsome wildlife” on a relatively small budget of £95,000 (around $150,000). One month later, the campaign concluded with Mojo Bones reaching not even a quarter of its fund-raising goal, and that was the last we heard of Impact Winter… until last week, when the project reemerged on Steam Greenlight and was approved in under three days.
