One of the more prominent PlayStation Mini games on the PlayStation Network was Zombie Tycoon, a cartoonish zombie apocalypse simulator/RTS. It appears as if fans enjoyed being an undead overlord enough to warrant a sequel that will expand far beyond the PS Mini platform.

Frima Studios has officially announced Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov’s Revenge on the official U.S. PlayStation Blog. Instead of being a mini, the title will be a full-fledged title for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The title will be a cross buy title so purchasing the game for either system will get you a copy for both. The game will also be fully cross play capable, so your saves can be transferred from your PS3 to your PS Vita and back again without any problems.

Zombie Tycoon II will finally answer the age old question “What is cooler, fast zombies or slow shamblers?” You can play as Orville Tycoon and an army of slow, lumbering, George Romero type zombies that just won’t die, or Professor Brianhov and his faster, rage filled, 28 Days Later type zombies. The game will feature a single-player campaign which will allow you to play as both factions, and an online multiplayer mode that will allow you to face off against other zombie hordes around the world. The game’s cross play functionality allows PS3 and PS Vita owners to play against each other in multiplayer with no issues.

Zombie Tycoon II is currently slated for an April 30th release date. Frima has promised that more details about the game will be revealed as we get closer to launch.
