A new Plants vs. Zombies game will be unveiled during Microsoft's E3 press conference next week.

The official YouTube account for the Plants vs. Zombies franchise posted a teaser trailer for a big reveal happening during Xbox's E3 press conference next week. We know that PopCap likely has something major in the works, and we have a feeling it's going to be Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. While a new entry of the tower defense Plants vs. Zombies core series would be awesome, we're expecting something a bit grander than another mobile game to be unveiled on the Xbox stage. Given the positive response and success to last year's Garden Warfare title, we wouldn't be surprised that a sequel is in the works.

While this reveal is happening during Xbox's main stage presentation, this does not guarantee that it'll be an Xbox exclusive or even a timed one. Just last month, Electronic Arts revealed its fourth quarter and total earnings report for the 2015 fiscal year. This report revealed a few launch windows for some of EA's major upcoming projects. The report revealed that a new Plants vs. Zombies title, the Need for Speed reboot and Mirror's Edge Catalyst were all on the way. In particular, Need for Speed is due by late 2015 while Mirror's Edge and Plants vs. Zombies are expected to launch in early 2016.

Stay tuned as we'll provide up-to-date coverage on the undead-botanical war once more information is available.
