Wolfenstein: The New Order Screens Are Full of Nazis and Robots and Guns, Oh My

Just announced Tuesday, MachineGames' Wolfenstein: The New Order had our curiosity with its moody trailer. Now its first screenshots have our attention.

The new Wolfenstein takes place during an alternate 1960s, where the Nazis have won World War 2, and taken over most of the world. There wasn't much gameplay to speak of in the teaser trailer, but these screenshots (courtesy of CVGWorld) offer a better glimpse at the horrors that await when taking on the Third Reich.

The machinery and weaponry being used is far-advanced, even for 1960, but Wolfenstein has always featured some unique scientific advances to spice up the armaments of the era. It will be interesting to see how the Cold War is addressed, what with the Nazis never being removed from power, and Russia and the U.S. not fighting over the remnants of Europe.

Check out the images below, and let us know what you think of the art direction Wolfenstein: The New Order is taking.
