Will Ferrell is Gaming for Charity on Twitch and Needs Your Help
One of our favorite 'Step Brothers' is going to be gaming for charity on Twitch and you have a chance to play with him by donating to a worthy cause.
Ron Burgundy is teaming up with Xbox, Amazon and Twitch in order to raise money for Cancer for College and DonateGames.org. These nonprofit organizations will help raise money for children and young teens with cancer as well as help build up college scholarships that will be held for cancer survivors. Fighting cancer is a hard fight, and a very expensive one, so we applaud Will Ferrell and the companies that are helping him do this fundraiser.
The fundraiser has a goal of $375,000. Once met, Ferrell will host his gaming event on Oct. 26, with one lucky winner winning an all-expenses-paid trip for two to San Francisco so you can visit Twitch's offices and play next to Ferrell live in person, with all sorts of swag to boot.
Donating $10 will have your name entered into this contest. It will net you $5 in Amazon credit towards a future game purchase. The $25 donation perk gets you one month of Twitch Turbo. $50 will give you Will Ferrell's SuperMegaUVBlastMax Gamer Sunscreen (we're serious). Donating $75 will get you a limited edition t-shirt of the event. Donations of $150 will get you a limited edition hoodie. $250 will get you a custom Xbox 360 controller that is actually signed by Ferrell. Lastly, the $500 donation will get you a custom-made cowbell, signed by Will Ferrell. The higher donations will also get you more entries into the grand prize. There are also some special $1,500 and $5,000 prizes as well.
In just a few hours, the online gaming community has been able to raise almost $27,000 of the $375,000 goal. With 32 days a go, we implore our readers to help contribute to such a great cause.
