Bungie's ambitious first-person shooter MMO that's not an MMO, but really it's an MMO, has been out for just a few days, but Destiny already has new event content coming for those eager to see what else lies in the cracks of Venus and beyond.

The developer announced a slate of upcoming events for Destiny over on its official site, with four scheduled to arrive this month, and another coming in October. First up is the Crucible Weekend Playlist featuring Salvage, which will run from Sep. 12-14. The 3v3 mode will task you with securing relics in the hopes of earning some choice Crucible gear, marks and reputation.

On Tuesday, Sep. 16, a new level 26 Strike will open on Venus. The Vault of Glass will challenge you to enter the fabled vault to search out whatever Vex menace lies inside. Legendary raid gear and Ascendant marks will be offered a prize to those brave enough to venture into the deadly arena.

Three other events have been revealed, though no firm date has been given as of yet. Crucible events Combined Arms (September) and Iron Banner (October) should provide plenty of PvP action, while the Queen's Wrath, also set to bow in September, appears to be additional story content based on the color coding. Additionally, Bungie hinted that even more non-scheduled content would be arriving soon. "Very soon, strange characters will arrive in the Tower with special offerings in hand. Public Events will erupt from the skies over your favorite destinations with greater frequency," the post stated.

We're still deep into reviewing Destiny ourselves, but that new content is coming so soon is a promising sign for the game's future. Of course, just how much time we'll be able to devote to Destiny in the coming months remains to be seen.
