It's a beautiful day in the mobile games neighborhood, as Epic Games has released Epic Citadel for Android devices. The free app, powered by the studio's Unreal Engine 3, also has a benchmarking mode that enables gamers to test their device's performance, including frame rate and resolution quality, with the popular game engine.

Apple loyalists were not left in the cold today by Epic Games, as iOS devices received a minor update enabling compatibility for the iPhone 5 as well as the iPad 4. Epic Citadel has not released major updates for the iOS since the game's September 2010 release. Since Epic Citadel is a tech demo that explores the world of Infinity Blade, there is inevitable speculation on whether Infinity Blade will be released for the Android. An Epic Games rep told The Verge that Infinity Blade will remain an iOS exclusive.
