It looks like we'll be hearing an official announcement from Ubisoft about its rumored Assassin's Creed Comet project.

According to CVG, Ubisoft is gearing up to announce its next Assassin's Creed game set to launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4. This project has been rumored to be titled Assassin's Creed Comet. The next major entry of the series, Assassin's Creed Unity, is due for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Oct. 28.

Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, said during a financials call today that official news on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360's next Assassin's Creed adventure is coming soon. Previous rumors hint that Assassin's Creed Comet would have you controlling a Templar sailor, with mechanics similar to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. It would have you pirating throughout the Atlantic coastline. This would mean that major ports of the past, such as Boston and New York City, would be likely places for you to be able to visit.

It is expected that this current-gen Assassin's Creed title's release will coincide with Unity's launch on Oct. 28.
