After The Art of Total War leaked the game's existence earlier this year, Sega has officially (and finally) announced Total War: Warhammer.

Sega's official announcement of Total War: Warhammer reminds us of that one really obvious friend who wants to throw you a surprise party and you find out really early. We all knew it was coming, but we still have to act surprised now that it's "official." If you're going to do an official announcement of something everyone already knew was coming, you may as well make it grand to try and surprise us, which is what happened here.

Total War: Warhammer will be the first in a trilogy of games that will be taking the award-winning PC strategy series into a totally new fantasy world. Sega is hoping that, when combined, these three games will make up "the single largest Total War experience ever." This definitely isn't too large of a feat, considering the Warhammer games are pretty extensive in and of themselves. The video doesn't give a release date for the game just yet, but it does invite players to subscribe to the Total War YouTube channel in order to be updated every time a new video comes out, one of which will hopefully give us a better idea of for a release window.

You can check out the video above to get a feel for what the new Total War: Warhammer game will be bringing to the table, err.. screen. We have a feeling it will be a PC exclusive like most of the other games of the franchise.
