Be prepared for chocobos, behemoths, cactuars and dragoons as this musical sequel has been officially announced for a North American release.

Boasting over 221 songs, with DLC tracks in the works, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call will go beyond its predecessor in order to provide fun, minimalist gameplay while maintaining a catchy beat. Curtain Call will include these new features that weren't seen in the first Theatrhythm: Versus Battle Mode, Quest Medley Mode, Collecta Crystarium cards that boost your stats and new characters, such as Barret, Yuna, Ramza and Zack.

Since Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call is building on the music-oriented gameplay from the original title, Square Enix is dipping into the expanded universe of the series in order to provide some more content. This is great news considering the original title already featured so many title songs from each of the main, numbered entries in the Final Fantasy series. This means that we will be hearing songs from the likes of Mystic Quest, Final Fantasy Tactics, the 'Advent Children' film, Final Fantasy X-2 and even the spin-offs to FFXIII.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call is debuting in Japan later this month, and we're anticipating a fall or winter 2014 release in North America.
